Dragon Province is one of the southern provinces of Nikan. However, unlike its neighbours, the province is one of the most distinguished and prosperous regions in the Empire, and the Warlord holds a great deal of political power.

History[]

The Dragon Province suffered one of the heaviest losses during the Third Poppy War. The Federation of Mugen attacked Golyn Niis via a secret mountain pass in the Kukhonin Mountain Range. The majority of its citizens were tortured and slaughtered during the invasion, with its women and female soldiers tortured, raped, and murdered in 'relaxation houses'. Although the Second and the Sixth Divisions of the Nikara Imperial Militia were present to defend Golyn Niis, they were decimated by the larger numbers of the Federation forces.

Politics[]

The House of Yin rules the Dragon Province. The family has strong ties to the crown, as they have a history of providing concubines for the imperial court. However, the current Dragon Warlord Yin Vaisra has a strained relationship with the Empress Su Daji. The Warlord does not attend the Summer Parade with the rest of his house during his son's second year at Sinegard Academy. Su Daji also sends the leader of the Cike, Tyr, to spy on the Warlord.

The Dragon Republic[]

After the end of the Third Poppy War, Warlord Yin Vaisra moves to remove the Empress from her seat of power and replace the imperial government and rule with a people's republic and a new democratic government. Though never officially referred to as such, it soon gains name and recognition as the Dragon Republic, leading key political players to doubt the sincerity of Vaisra's motive of instituting a democratic government.

Geography[]

It is bordered by the Rooster Province to the west, the Hare Province to the north, and the Snake Province to its southeast. Its northwestern border is lined by the Daha Mountain Range, separating it from the Boar Province. The Qinling Mountain Range is at its northeastern border. A tributary of the Murui River cuts through it.

Golyn Niis[]

The wartime capital of the Nikara Empire is located in the eastern region of the province. It is built in a lush delta to the south of Golyn River.

Arlong[]

Originally the home of the House of Yin, it serves as the wartime capital for the Dragon Republic. Arlong is built into the Red Cliffs of Daba Range and is a city of islands connected by canals and bridges. It is well protected by the natural shape of the land around it, making it impervious to land attack.
